Truly, self-control will probably be the most in-demand skill in 2030. Be better. Hold yourself to a standard not because you want to please man but because you serve a God who has given you the capacity for it.
# **“Healthy” Bible Verses**
_**2 Timothy 5**_ – An athlete cannot receive the winners crown except by competing according to the rules._**1 Corinthians 9: 24-27**_ – Do you not know that the runners in the stadium all run in the race, but only one wins the prize? Run so as to win. Every athlete exercises discipline in every way. They do it to win a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one. Thus I do not run aimlessly, I do not fight as if I were shadowboxing. No, I drive my body and train it, for fear that, after having preached to others, I myself should be disqualified._**2 Timothy 4:7**_ – I have competed well, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith._**1 Corinthians 6: 19-20**_ – Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?_**1 Samuel 16:7**_ – But the Lord said to Samuel: “Do not judge from his appearance or from his lofty stature, because I have rejected him. Not as man sees does God see, because man sees the appearance but the Lord looks into his heart.”_**3 John 1:2**_ – Beloved, I hope that you are prospering in every aspect and in good health, just as your soul is prospering._**Proverbs 17:22**_ – A joyful heart is the health of the body, but a depressed spirit dries up the bones._**Phillipians 4:13**_ – I have the strength in everything through Him who empowers me._**Isiaiah 40: 29-31**_ – He gives strength to the fainting; for the weak he makes vigor abound. Though young men faint and grow weary and youths stagger and fall, they that hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar with eagles’ wings, they will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint._**Hebrews 12:1**_ – Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith._**Hebrews 12:11-13**_ – At the time, all discipline seems a cause not for joy but for pain, yet later it brings the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who are trained by it. So strengthen your drooping hands and your weak knees. Make straight paths for your feet, that what is lame may not be dislocated but healed._**Proverbs 14:30**_ – A tranquil mind gives life to the body, but jealousy rots the bones._**Proverbs 3:7-8**_ – Be not wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and turn away from evil; this will mean health for your flesh and vigor for your bones._**1 Corinthians 11:31**_ – So whatever you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.Just in case you needed any more convincing that leading a healthy life is the way to go, hopefully this post persuaded you accordingly.

A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy. ... **[Hebrews 12:1-29](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews+12%3A1-29&version=ESV) ESV / 5 helpful votes** Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted. In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. ... **[1 Thessalonians 5:23-24](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Thessalonians+5%3A23-24&version=ESV) ESV / 5 helpful votes** Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are not you my workmanship in the Lord? If to others I am not an apostle, at least I am to you, for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord. This is my defense to those who would examine me. Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak. Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. ... **[Colossians 3:1-25](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Colossians+3%3A1-25&version=ESV) ESV / 4 helpful votes** If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. wow I really think Judgment Day will be like when I really thought I did well in the 2nd Exam in Eng 22 and then cue glory of the sublime. Day when we’ll be held accountable not only to people but also to God Himself, the Ruler and Creator and Master of everything and everyone in the heavens and on earth, about why we did what we did and everything our actions caused. I’ll probably be hit with all the sublime glory first before I enter heaven. People died, millions injured, because of what I started. I’m being subjected to total judgment on earth and people’s opinions because this is preparation for what will come in the afterlife. I will have to be prepared to answer for my sins even though God had pre-planned COVID and monkeypox and all the other flus to wreak havoc on earth for a lot of reasons. It’s all mathematical and oddly like a puzzle set. I come from a family of doctors, mom, dad, Ae Bebot, my sister. Doctors are supposed to treat diseases, not cause them. I skipped biology in high school because my parents transferred me from Shekinah. I could not survive first year biology because I got degree program with available slot. The worst subject I could have ever chosen for college, despite my skill in physics, math, english, chemistry?, etc. I was poised to fail in that program. I even met Tiffy Uy, the summa cum laude with a near perfect or was it actually 1.0 GWA, and along with my mother asked her for directions on where to go a certain place. DIRECTIONS. A MAP. A WAY. Of course I had no idea she was Tiffy Uy, but I remembered her face, because I remember faces. Such glory and the contrast between me, the biology ignoramus, and Tiffy Uy. I shifted to CS because I thought I really liked HTML and CSS in high school, basically web design, or UI design. I had no idea. I really thought I could become a Zuckerberg. It was a new chance to become something, aside from the draw of good salary and prestige. I had always always followed the rules. Everything fell apart thereafter. All my good deeds in high school like refusing to flirt with a boy or saying yes to him, Vince Gamolo, even though I really really wanted to have a boyfriend because I really thought I was hopeless. All of those “I will do as I’m told and follow my parents’ dreams for me.” I will stay godly and love piano and not associate with other children. All of that bullying in high school and my making the best of being a village idiot for everyone’s entertainment. So much suffering in silence and good submission to ideology I did not understand completely. This is the trouble with raising kids to be Christian, no matter what you do, they will never be Christian truly and be in Christ unless God changes their nature fundamentally. It will feel like a trap for them, unless they are willing to love God despite the circumstances they receive from Him like great pain they are not prepared to handle.
One day, a very special day, when I’m long dead and glorified, it will all make sense in a real and lovely way. I know it makes sense now in theory. Knowing is very different from experiencing. What prevents me from experiencing this appreciation of the “why” is the sadness.
