Dear God, I read the Bible and your word has spoken to me, here's what I read and learned. John 1-5 Knowing God- I have learned that you don't have a material body like we do. You can be everywhere at once! I thank you for being right here this very minute, and I can always count on you! Popularity - The gospel message isn't very popular because, 1. It demands that you acknowledge your need for the spiritual healing only Christ can bring (Matthew 9:11-13) 2. Until God opens a person's heart, it is impossible to fully comprehend (I Corinthians 2:14) 3. Embracing it completely will lead to hardship and persecution. (II Timothy 2:8-9; 3:10-12) Popularity II- Popularity is dangerous for at least two reasons: 1. It can become a major source of jealousy. 2. It can become an obsession. Work it Out: Ask God to help you deal with popularity. If you aren't especially popular with your peers, ask him to give you needed insights and proper attitudes. If you are part of the popular crowd, ask the Lord to keep you from getting a big head. Honestly analyse your behaviour and lifestyle for any actions that might not be pleasing in the sight of God. PRAYER LIST/CHECK LIST 1. I pray that I will be able to memorise the 198 verses in preparation for the JSC 2010 Bible memory contest. 2. I pray Lord that I will memorise and learn all my pieces needed for the JSC competition so that I can glorify your name. 3. I pray Lord that I will become valedictorian this year. I will try my best in my studies and trust you to achieve that goal. 4. I pray Lord that dad will be strengthened in his work and at the same time in his ministry. I pray the mom will have a safe pregnancy and protect her from evil people who persecute her. I pray Lord that my sister will not be lazy and be obedient and be more patient. 5. I pray Lord that my grandfather's eyes will be opened and he will receive you as his Saviour and as well as my grandmother and two aunts, uncle and cousins.
